Creative App
Development & Design
for Youth

CADDY is a youth workshop, exploring android application development through MIT’s AppInventor II. The course is supported by UNL’s department of Computer Science & Engineering (UNL CSE), and is held on campus.

The workshops are age-group specific, with two dates offered for each group from elementary to middle school. Each workshop is standalone, meaning that no prior knowledge is needed to participate, but youth can attend both workshops if they wish.

The sessions will feature an introduction to coding (with Blockly or Scratch), introduction to coding with AppInventor II, and then a quick, supported build of an application, the idea for which will be created and developed by the youth in that session.

The course is run by a current UNL CSE student and community CS entreprenuer.
